"Trip Making Tips"

Just A Few Reminders From Us!

You don't have to bring everything.  It's just a DAY trip.  The important ones to think about are in RED!

For Day Trips: (It's easy to forget the simplest things, so don't be disappointed later)

It's good to remember that you'll be exercising so in the summer dress in "Cool & Loose" clothes and in cooler weather DON'T forget to layer.  It is BEST to be a little warm in cooler weather because you can get quite chilly from perspiring, but you can regulate your temperature by adding or loosing layers.

YOU WILL need freedom of movement in your upper body, especially around your arms so think comfortable loose fitting clothes.

  • Make a "Check List" of "Things to Remember"

  • Check the Weather Report

  • Sunscreen

  • Sunglasses

  • Insect Repellent (Some places can be VERY buggy)

  • Hat

  • Long Sleeve Shirt (Sun, Wind, Rain or after sunset & before sunrise it can be cool)

  • Long Sleeve Pants (Same as above)

  • A Light Jacket (A Windbreaker is fine in case of showers or chill)

  • EXTRA Bottle of Water (We provide 1 litre of water / person on day trips)

  • A few Paper Towels (In a Small Zip-loc Bag)

  • Camera (In a Large Zip-loc Bag)

  • If YOU are a Bird Watcher: Binoculars (In a Large Zip-loc Bag)

  • Small Gym Bag or Duffel

  • A Beach Towel

  • Pocket Knife

  • Gloves (Not absolutely necessary unless you blister easily)

  • Small Kitchen Trash Bag for your Duffel

  • Frisbee "Kayak Frisbee" is a hoot!

  • Oh Yeah!  THE KIDS!!  Almost forgot.

For Overnight / Camping Trips: (See Above & ADD 1 Change of Clothes)

  • Pocket Knife or Multi-tool (WE prefer the "Leather Dude")
  • Toilet Paper (One Roll depending on your trip length)
  • EXTRA Paper Towels
  • Lighter
  • Flashlight
  • ANY MEDICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE!!!
  • Motion Sickness Pills, Patch or Other (If you're susceptible)
  • Travel Tooth Brush & Paste
  • Joy Dish Soap (In a small shampoo bottle.  It's biodegradable and lathers well in salt water)
  • Tent, Sleeping Bag, Sleep Pad etc... (Unless you're renting from us)
  • A Garden Trowel (If you'll be camping on your own.  For digging the sanitary facilities)
  • Trail Mix or Some "Energy" Snacks (Compact, easily packed & easy to carry on your kayak)

We're SURE we've forgotten something so if you have suggestions please e-mail us or fill out the suggestion form at FEEDBACK.
